Textured black ceramic decorative bowl

High quality, hand made, chunky clay bowl for sale using the Japanese Raku firing technique. This is extra coarse black Vulcan stoneware clay, and produces the most amazing textures when fired. Raku stoneware clay is bisqued, glazed, then fired in kiln, then the pot is transferred to and sealed in a reduction chamber of wood and paper while the pot is red hot. the glaze reacts with the clay and this produces unique and sporadic effects. Due to the porous nature of this surface, it is not recommended for use with food or water, and is purely decorative.
