Figure#10, 2024. Abstract ceramic art sculpture

This is another piece in my collection of a series of sculptures focusing on the visual manifestation of mental health symptoms. My aim is create works that people can relate to and connect with emotionally. Mental illness is something I have a close personal connection to, and my goal is to communicate this through my work.

This piece was inspired by a Francis Bacon painting. The agony is palpable as you feel like you’re disappearing and disintegrating. The open mouth is formed into a scream at the top of the figure’s lungs. This can explore emotional catharsis and release.
